Just found out today about this site called Rentacoder – its a bidding like system for programmers but the lowest bidder would not necessarily win…
This site have video about rent a coder secrets…
There are similar sites like:
- odesk
- elance (costs money to register and charged per category)
- GetAFreelancer
- ifreelance
- writer’s row
- gofreelance As it a completely paid to join
- Scriptlance
I’m sure I’ll use the service.

Don’t forget about guru.com, I think it’s the best one. It doesn’t have as many “give me a site like microsoft.com and i don’t want to pay mroe than $35 for it because you know what you are doing” types.

One more that is a bit different, but I think you just might find a great designer there.. is DesignQuote.. http://www.designquote.net
Now I’m not sure what the requirements are for the client (you), don’t know if you have to pay to list your project. But it works differently than anything else I’ve seen. From a provider (web designer) perspective, you purchase “credits.” And you take those credits and purchase “leads.”
For example, say you have a project, and your budget range (don’t worry, there are dropdowns for budget ranges) is $1500-$2000. You place your “ad” with all your requirements, including your budget range. You can decide if you want to work with just local designers (if you prefer face to face meetings or on site work), or nationwide or worldwide. That determines who gets to bid for your lead. And you determine how many “bids” you want to consider, 2-8 or more.
Here’s where DesignQuoteNet differs from all the other ‘lance sites out there. Designers who are interested in your project purchase a “lead” to your project. That is to say, they purchase your contact info. It’s up to them to contact you to talk up their web design shop and up to you who, from all the leads that are purchased for your project, you hire. There’s no bidding on the job there on the web site. You just buy the lead, get the web master’s contact info and the rest is up to you. (Kinda like eHarmony but for web designers??)
